Be my own executor or use trust company?
My mother and a trust company were named co-executors of my late father’s estate. Our lawyer said we can do all the executor duties ourselves and save the 5% of the trust companies fees of the estate. Ive read a book on estate planning and it seems fairly straight forward. Just wondered if anyone has any experience in this and would offer some insights on which way to go: Be our own executor or use the Trust company.
This is in Canada by the way.

I need a lawyer for probate (will)…any advice pls?
My husband recently passed away and he left a will which also has to be certified and forwarded to the banks. I asked the county clerk and she said that it has to be probated first and that I have to seek legal advise from a lawyer.
Do you have an idea how much it would run me to get a lawyer? It’s a simple will and I am the sole beneficiary.
And any other advice is very much welcome.
Thank you.
BTW, I am from Texas.

How do you get a will probated in Texas?
My mother died and my brother keeps saying he will get the will probated, etc. but is dragging his feet on it.
So what do I do? Do I go to a special court? Do I go hire a lawyer? Do both of us need a lawyer? What is the system like?
In other words what do I need to do now?

Can I probate a will in texas without hiring a lawyer ?
I am trying to help my elderly neighbor with her husbands estate. She has a valid will and needs to file it for probate. The only problem is she does not want to hire a lawyer to do it. Can we file this with the court without a lawyer ? The will leaves everything to her and her and they have no children.

Is anyone familiar with, or do you have expertise in, Wills and Probate?
I am wondering how long one has to contest a will? And if that time has already elapsed, would consideration be given to information discovered after the fact?
My father passed away in 2003 and his daughters got nothing. Now, we have learned that his wife’s children are all mortgage free. Also, his Marco Island, Florida condo, boat, and slip were never mentioned in the original will. Furthermore, the lawyer on my father’s will is also the lawyer that signed off on one of the mortgages.
Anyone that could give me any information, advice, or the name of a lawyer that is more than competent with respect to these issues would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I’m looking for answers as they apply to Massachusetts law.
Thank you.

What are the forms I need to file for a probate (will)?
I am from Texas. My husband’s will is quite simple and I believe I am able to do it as others have done so. I went to the clerk of my county but they won’t tell me the forms and say I have to go to an attorney. A lawyer is my last resort because of the expense. I called a legal aid and we were cut short so I have to call them again, but anyway, the legal aid said I would have 15 days from filing to inform me if I am approved for a legal aid. Any idea?

Grandma passed away and I never heard anything from our uncle about what was left to me. How can I find out? If I was in the will, wouldn’t I have to be contacted by the lawyer handling the case?
